Jessica Barnette

Yoga Instructor

Jess started her yoga teaching journey in 2015, completing a 200 hour yoga teacher training. She also completed a Postpartum/Baby and Me Yoga certification that included prenatal aspects in 2016. From 2016-2022 she worked with the City of Lakewood to offer prenatal, postnatal, children’s, and family yoga classes. In 2022, Jess completed her 300 hour extended yoga teacher training that included intensives focused on pelvis/pelvic floor, the spine, and the breath. It also included intensive modules for restorative yoga, prenatal yoga, and a sacred commerce course. Through this program she also completed a Yin Yoga certification. Jess is a Registered Nurse (RN). From 2007 to 2015, Jess worked as an RN at University of Colorado Hospital in labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. She has a broad knowledge of all things OB-related. In that time, she participated in more than 1,000 births, and she continues to attend births as a doula for friends and family.

Jess has experience, certifications, and training in both Reiki and Healing Touch disciplines and loves to incorporate these into her Yoga work. Witha strong belief in the incorporation of all of these disciplines/knowledge, Jess offersyoga classes that center the student, build community, offer knowledge and apply yoga in a therapeutic manner. Jess lives in the Denver area with her spouse, two kids, dog, and two cats. She loves the arts, music, theatre, creativity, and getting out in nature —especially a full moon walk or hike with her family. She loves to travel and learn about other people, cultures, and places. She also connects with her inner-child with her love for all things Disney.

Jess is forever grateful to India: the place, the people and the culture, and all their teachings, which is the birth-place of yoga and its disciplines. She hopes to live this gratitude through her teachings and her own personal journey as a modern yoga teacher, teaching in the Western world.
